About us

Rainier Pure Beef Company is a leading privately held meatpacker in the Western United States, distinguished by our deep-rooted relationships with cattle producers and a diverse network of retailers and processing partners.

Over the years, we have built our reputation as a custom processor.  Our operations span the entire cattle supply chain, from sourcing through harvesting and fabrication, culminating in a broad portfolio of products including subprimals, trim, and offal. These products flow into grocery retail, food service, and ingredient channels, across both regional and national markets.

Our Story

Since 1897 farmers have been raising cattle and producing beef on Horseshoe Lake in Woodland, Washington. In 1961 the McKinley Meat Packing Plant opened, which later became Walt’s Wholesale Meats. For over 60 years Walt’s served the beef industry with pride. During this time we experienced growth, challenge and change.

In 2021, Walt’s was acquired by Founders Group of Food Companies, a family owned organization that invests its own capital and leverages deep industry expertise to build thriving food businesses, create long-term value, and develop exceptional partnerships throughout the food supply chain.

Today, we proudly serve our partners and our community as Rainier Pure Beef Company.

Yes. Our Whole Pasture program features 100% grass-fed and grass-finished angus beef, ensuring no grain is introduced at any stage. 

Yes. Our organic program meets USDA organic standards, including requirements for feed, animal care, and no use of antibiotics or added hormones.

We supply a full range of beef products including Primal and Sub-Primal Cuts, Trim for Grind and Offal.

All products are processed under USDA inspection using a validated HACCP system.
